On December 24, 2025, Southern Federal University will host two open lectures by Jiang Yong, a research fellow at Shandong Management University (China) and a visiting professor at the Institute of Management in Economic, Economics, and Social Systems and Institute of Mathematics, Mechanics, and Computer Science named after I.I. Vorovich at Southern Federal University.
The lectures will be held in English in person, with the option to join online.

Lecture 1: «Poem, music and emotions in management».
The lecture is concerned about the definition, characteristics, classification, role of emotions in management and the relationships between poetry, music and emotions in management. Based on the above analysis, the suggestions are given on how to cultivate positive and uplifting emotions in management through poetry, music and other artistic means.

Lecture 2: «The application of Python and Stata in the research of management: A case of paper writing and revision».
Empirical research dominates in the contemporary research. How to do empirical research in management? We need managerial discovery from management practice and managerial data processing. Therefore, managerial data processing plays a critical role to help finding the managerial discovery. Python and Stata are widely used to process the data. Python is widely used to process text data while Stata is widely used to process structural data. This lecture aims at illustrating the role of Python and Stata in the managerial research through a case of research article writing and revision.
